On April 18, 2008, a group of HMSC students travelled to the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology in Charleston, OR, to take part in the second annual HMSC/OIMB Scholar Exchange. While down in Charleston, we gave and heard talks on graduate student research, competed in an amazing bio-decathlon, and "networked with future colleagues" (yeah, that's it). The students of OIMB put together an incredible Scholar Exchange, and have set the bar very high for next year's event. The best part of the whole thing? HMSC won the physical challenge (with a bit of assistance from our colleagues at the Coos Bay ODFW office), and will get to keep the General Ambrose Burnside Memorial Marine Biology Physical Challenge Trophy for another year! Check out some pictures of the Scholar Exchange below. And here's a great video of Londi's best seal impression. |
