Fish Immunity Homepage

This page has been designed in an effort to give a brief description of the immune system within fish.  Specific immunity is an inducible response with specificity directed towards specific molecules on pathogens or other foreign agents which may enter the body.  Topics covered here include: Fish immunoglobins, antibody effector mechanisms, B cells, memory, and vaccination.  A brief tribute to Stephen L Kaattari, for his contribution towards the research of fish immunology, will follow.  Enjoy, but please, don't get "hooked!"
