Meeting Rooms

Meeting Rooms at

Hatfield Marine Science Center

The Center has meeting rooms, classrooms, an auditorium and labs that can be rented for use by outside groups. Descriptions and photos of the various rooms can be found on this page. View the room rental fees by clicking Costs on the menu below. Please read the Rooms Use Policies to ensure that our facility will meet your group's needs. Availability of each room on specific dates can be checked by using the Meeting Rooms Calendar.

Please make room requests by submitting the on-line Room Request Form . Room requests are not considered guaranteed until you receive a final confirmation email. If confirmation is not received within three business days of your request call our meeting room coordinator, Candace Rogers, to check status.

With the exception of the Dining Hall, all rooms which are available to rent are located in either our Main Building or Guin Library (map). A map of the entire Hatfield Marine Science Center campus can be found at the upper right-hand corner of this page. HMSC is located just south of Newport and the Yaquina Bay Bridge and off of highway 101 (driving directions).

Important Note: Hatfield Marine Science Center is located in a tsunami innudation area. In the event of an earthquake, a tsunami may be triggered, and you and your group must reach an evacuation point within 15 minutes. The closest evacuation point is the high ground at the base of the bridge, about a 10 minute walk from HMSC. Thus it is strongly suggested that the organizers of any group using HMSC facilities brief their group on the HMSC evacuation plan prior to the start of their meeting (the plan). For more information please contact Candace Rogers, HMSC meeting room coordinator.
