This website has been created in partial fulfillment of a Master of Science degree in the Marine Resource Management program at Oregon State University.

In October of 2000 there was an Oregon Sea Grant Coastal and Ocean Issues Workshop. One of the main topics of the workshop was aquaculture. This website has been designed to address some of the limitations identified at the workshop with regard to aquaculture development. Two of the main constraints include:

  1. Lack of research into high value species with aquaculture potential, and
  2. The need to “Provide unbiased education about aquaculture to the public at large, and in particular, the environmental community, regulatory agencies and policymakers.”
