Dolphin Fish - E. D'Alessandro

Future oceans are predicted to be very different than the oceans of today. From 2009-2013, Sean Bignami conducted a series of laboratory experiments to measure the effects of predicted levels of ocean acidification on the growth, physiology, behavior, and survivorship of marine fish larvae. His studies focused on two large economically important pelagic species, cobia and mahi-mahi and have resulted in three publications (Bignami et al. 2013a,b, 2014), and another in prep. This work was supported by a number of small grants and funds from the UM Maytag Endowment.
