Before beginning my MS at Oregon State University, I worked as the program coordinator for the citizen science program, COASST, in addition to field work in Puget Sound and on the coast of Washington State and off the coast of Chile.
My thesis project involves the use of remote sensing data, specifically images from the WorldView-3 and WorldView-2 satellites, to count short-tailed albatross (Phoebastria albatrus), an IUCN-listed vulnerable population, from space.
