From annual events such as SeaFest, Whale Watch Weeks and FossilFest to monthly talks, demonstrations and films, the Visitor Center offers fascinating fare for all ages.
Our Events page lists activities, talks and special events, and allows you to plan your visit to the coast to coincide with upcoming programs you won't want to miss.

The Visitor Center is more than just an aquarium. Our hands-on exhibits are designed to demonstrate marine science by getting you involved.
We're constantly adding new exhibits, many showcasing the work of researchers right here at the HMSC, or illustrating important global issues such as climate change. Frequent visitors will also find old favorites, from our resident octopus "host" to our popular touch tank.

Why do we return our resident octopus to the sea? Where do scientists get their ideas? What's this weird-looking thing I found on the beach? Get the answers thorugh our new Ask A Scientist feature.
The Fish Health Corner, meanwhile, explains the work of our dedicated animal husbandry team to care for the hundreds of marine animals you can see in our exhibits. And don't forget to check the current events page to see if we're offering guided tours of the animal care facility.
