The Visitor Center, and the marine science complex it is part of, depend on people with a variety of skills, from academic researchers to educational program aides to aquarists and even ship's crew members.
When full- or part-time positions are available at the Visitor Center, with Oregon Sea Grant or at the Oregon State University-run labs here, they are posted on the OSU Jobs site, where you can submit an online application.
Positions at the federal agency labs in the surrounding HMSC campus are advertised through www.usajobs.gov/. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife lab hires through www.emp.state.or.us/jobs.
Sorry, we have no openings at present.
Opportunities for graduate and undergraduate university students to work and study at the center can be found on the main HMSC Web site.
In addition, Oregon Sea Grant offers periodic student internships and fellowships through its Sea Grant Scholars program, some of which involve work at the HMSC.
