New findings on the translocation and hand-rearing of short-tailed albatross: Deguchi et al. 2014.

Robert M. Suryan is a co-author on a recently published paper examining early indicators of success of the translocation and hand-rearing of the short-tailed albatross on Mukojima Island, Japan (Deguchi et al. 2014).  The authors compared the growth, physiological health indices, post-fledging survival, and migration patterns of hand-reared albatross on Mukojima Island to naturally reared albatross on Torishima Island, Japan.  Find out more about their results at Oryx.
