Education @ Hatfield
Students in OSU’s College of Education go on to become teachers, counselors, researchers and scholars with a vision for the future and a passion for learning. As education begins to take new forms and adapt to the changing world, students are developed into important change agents, working in fields such as marine education.
As a scholar of applied linguistics, Dr. Shawn Rowe focuses his work on free-choice learning programs outside of the school setting, analyzing how the choice to learn is shaped by factors such as language and setting. Dr. Rowe works with Oregon Sea Grant extension to apply free-choice learning to the HMSC Visitor Center, investigating the structure of exhibits and activities.
