Marine Science Day 2021 Goes Virtual

Saturday, April 10, 2021
10 am - 2 pm
This event is FREE and open to EVERYONE

THIS YEAR'S THEME: THE BEAUTY OF SCIENCE

We have so much to share - the new Marine Studies Building, exciting research happening off our shores, and an art gallery where everyone is invited to share the beauty of marine science.

This FREE event is ideal for families, students, and life-long adult learners.

Please help us spread the word and share this link to our MSD 2021 flyer (pdf).

CHOOSE YOUR ADVENTURE

On the day of the event, there will be five virtual rooms you can visit. Pick one or explore them all.

  • MAIN STAGE: Listen and ask questions of researchers live via Zoom while they share their work.
  • EXHIBIT HALL: Explore dozens of interactive displays on research happening at Hatfield.
  • KID ZONE: Investigate intertidal animals with an educator, check out live animal interactions, interview an aquarist, learn to draw like an octopus, learn about marine science careers, and enjoy hands-on activities.
  • TOURS: Take a virtual tour of Hatfield’s world-class facility for research and learning. Peek inside the seawater system, dive beneath the waves without getting wet, explore an eelgrass bed, and look inside the new vertical evacuation building.
  • COMMUNITY ART GALLERY:  Enjoy the art on the Hatfield campus and share your artwork inspired by this year's Marine Science Day theme - The Beauty of Science.

Stay tuned - more details about this event will be coming soon!

The links for Marine Science Day will go live on Saturday, April 10th.

We look forward to seeing you then.
