Internships at Hatfield

Hatfield offers a broad range of internships through a variety of programs, departments and agencies affiliated with the center. Opportunities exist for graduates, undergraduates and community college students.

Located in Newport, Oregon, Hatfield Marine Science Center is Oregon State University's marine lab serving as a base for distinguished oceanographic research and education, providing academic programs and opportunities for students in secondary and post-secondary education.

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS @ Hatfield

Gain experiences directly related to your career interests in coastal and ocean issues. Academic programs at Hatfield engage students through research, teaching and experiential learning. Courses range from traditional marine and ocean sciences to public outreach, marine policy and the arts.

 

GRADUATE PROGRAMS @ Hatfield

From genetics to trawling, microbes to whales, HMSC's graduate programs span the breadth of marine studies. Mentored by faculty and government agency scientists, students conducting research at HMSC gain real-world experience in transdisciplinary, interagency research. Exposure to a broad range of scientific collaboration enhances students’ knowledge and enriches their ensuing professional careers. While graduate students hail from a multitude of OSU Colleges and Departments, they share the experience of being part of a vibrant, interdisciplinary marine science community that continues far beyond commencement.
