How do I register for the HMSC Summit?
Ready to join us? Registration is required for attendance. The 2024 HMSC Research Summit is an onsite event with limited remote viewing options. Check out the tour, workshop, and breakout room options before you register.
When is the registration deadline?
The registration deadline for 2025 is still TBD.
Is there a registration fee to attend?
In order to encourage broad participation, we will not be charging a registration fee. However, we will be providing food throughout the event so advance registration is required. If your plans to attend change, please let us know as soon as possible.
Can I attend the HMSC Research Summit remotely?
The HMSC Research Summit is an onsite event with limited remote viewing options. The welcome and the research talks will be shared live via Zoom. You must register for the remote option at the link below to receive the Zoom link for this event.
What do I do if I need to cancel my registration?
If your plans to attend change, please let us know as soon as possible so if you can no longer attend, please email Cinamon Moffett, so we don't buy food for you.
Where do I check in?
Please meet in the atrium on the first floor of the Gladys Valley Marine Studies Building. See this HMSC campus map.
Is food provided?
On October 15, one drink ticket will be provided for those registered for the pre-event onsite social. During the social, food will be for sale at Rise Cafe.
On Oct 16, food will be provided for the full-day event as part of the registration.
• Coffee and pastries: 8:30 - 9 a.m.
• Coffee and pastries: 10:30 - 10:50 a.m.
• Lunch: 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.
• Coffee and Cookies: 2:25 - 2:45 p.m.
Where do I park?
You can park anywhere on the Hatfield campus in a paved stall. No parking pass is required.
What if I can’t remember which tours or workshops I signed up for?
You will receive a confirmation email on Oct 11 and a list will be available at the check in table the day of the event.
How can we become an Event Sponsor?
The annual HMSC Research Summit is a unique opportunity for our larger community to meet and engage with the diversity of research, researchers, and programs across our many organizations that make Hatfield Marine Science Center special. This year’s event will be held on Oct 15 and 16th with an expected attendance of 150 researchers, staff, and students over the two days. The goal of this event is to foster connections and collaboration across the HMSC and its partners. Lunch and snacks are provided for the full-day free event. Sponsorship dollars will go towards helping us cover the food and speaker support costs associated with putting on a free event with no registration cost for our participants. Official sponsors will be recognized on event promotional material and the agenda. We would welcome general sponsorship of any amount or level of sponsorship for a particular event.
